As a great fruit tree whose fruit is available to all who pass by, only the ones who reach out and take the fruit will taste of it.  It is solely through the finished work of Jesus who died on a tree that was a cross of wood hewn from a tree.  There is the opportunity to take something valuable from that moment.  

Faith is inegimatic because it works on an unseen plane.  Faith is clearly distinct from the work or effort we produce, but the tends to produce works.  To get to the point, I believe that faith is a kind of "Forward Momentum" in the belief that good results are expected.  So, there is a pragmatism to this that might help us understand how faith is generated.
